Major(Dr) S S Poonia,Won three medals in World championship in Croatia

Dear Navodayans ,
Our senior from jawahar navoadaya Vidyalaya Patan ,Sikar ,Rajasthan Major (Dr) S S Poonia Won three medals at International event.He became the first Indian to win three medals at World Medical and Health Games held recently at Porec in Croatia. .He participated in World Medical Games in Croatia and won Gold in Powerlifting,Silver in discus throw and Broanze in javelin throw.
He is presently serving with The Supreme commander ,honorable President of India Smt Pratibha Devi Singh Patil In Rashtrapati Bhawan delhi as a doctor in President's Bodyguard. Dr Poonia earlier served with elitist Special Forces in kashmir and Sicahene for 5 yrs and then went to United nations on deputation.He also represented Special forces in China and Mangolia.
An alumnus of Navodaya vidyalaya and Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune .He is a qualified paratrooper who belongs to the best of Indian Army.
We all are proud of his Achievement .

PMO website to host ministers' asset details

New Delhi: Details of all ministers' assets would soon be posted on the website of the Prime Minister's Office, official sources said Sunday.

The information is likely to be uploaded soon, the source said, adding that the decision was taken in the wake of corruption scams being exposed.

According to the sources, Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrasekhar has already written to all central ministers that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has given the green signal to make the information public on the PMO website regarding the details of their assets and liabilities.

This is being done as part of the efforts to make governance transparent, the sources said.

A student burnt to death in school: JNV Madhepura!

In a heart-rending incident, 13-year-old Vijay Prakash was allegedly burnt to death by his four school friends in Madhepura district, some 300 km from here.
The gruesome killing took place when Vijay, a student of Class VII of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, was fast asleep in his hostel room. On Monday morning, his roommates panicked when they saw Vijay engulfed in flames. As the minor boy screamed for help, his friends and teachers in the hostel rushed in with blankets and water to douse the flames. By then, the victim had suffered 70 per cent burns. He was immediately rushed to Madhepura Sadar Hospital, which, after initial medical care, immediately referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital. However, writhing in pain, the boy died on way to Patna. Meanwhile, the victim’s father Bindeshwari Razak lodged a complaint in which he has named Vijay’s four friends as prime accused and also blamed the school authorities for the loss of his son. According to police sources, a few days back, Vijay had an altercation with his friends on the hostel campus over the use of a mobile phone. The school principal had suspended two students in this connection. Razak insists the same boys who had clashed with his son burnt him to death. Though the school authorities said Vijay committed suicide after being humiliated by his friends, the district police do not rule out a foul play. “We have found half a litre of kerosene in a two-litre bottle and match stick from the incident site. We are investigating the case from all angles,” said Superintendent of Police Varun Kumar.

Minutes of meeting held in Rewari on 31.07.2010

Agenda and decisions decided in the meeting are as follows:

1. Venue: JNV Kareera, MP Hall

2. Date of function: Same as fixed earlier i.e. 2nd October-10 (Saturday)

3. Time of meet: 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM
Meeting with one another/ teachers and decision on next meet– 01.00 PM to 04.00 PM.

4. Registration of JNV Kareera Alumni Trust: It was decided to register the trust in next week followed by opening of bank account in a PSU bankt so that transactions can be managed in proper way and alumni who are unable to come in NAAM and want to donate/contribute may do so. All alumni will be members of trust. To become an active trustee an alumnus has to pay fees of Rs.100/-.A alumnus can donate to the trust any amount as he/she wishes. Proper record of income and expenditure will be maintained by cashier and will be online.

5. Budget of next meet: Rs. 20,000/- to Rs. 30,000/-.
Expected expenditure – gifts purchases, payment to school mess for lunch etc.

6. Chief Guest: As the meet is basically to pay respect to teachers ,to meet with one another and to guide/motivate students of JNV Kareera ,there will be no chief guest rather all teachers coming from outside to attend the meet will be special guests . Alumni from other JNVs will also be guests.

7. Events/Items of programme: Saraswati vandna, introductory speech by an alumnus, any two cultural programs by JNVK students and any two by alumni, gifts distribution, honor of special guests, speeches/experience sharing, and speech by Principal/teachers etc.

8. Guidance/Counseling to students: Guidance to students will be provided during September ,2010. Counselling of students for the medical field will be the responsibility of Dr Ajit Tankwal, for Engineering of Ramniwas and Hawa Singh and for Commerce and other fields of Harish Punia and Anil Sharma. It is requested that any help these persons seek will be provided by all alumni.

9. Responsibilities for function:
Liaison with JNVK School: Rajesh Bansal, Sunder lal, Ashok, Hawa Singh, Praveen and Ramniwas.
Purchase of gifts - Amit Yadav,Anil Sharma and Harish Punia.
Stage management - Rajesh Bansal ,if available otherwise Praveen Patodia/Ramniwas etc.
Cultural activities – Rajesh Bansal, Shamsher, Praveen Patodia and JNVK Music teacher.
To intimate on phone – Sunder Lal and Nityanand.
