Hello World,

Its not just another movie that tell you the romantic tale that always ended in fight between underworld dons.

Having educated in an school that always advocated Patriotism, Fight against corruption, etc, I thought its my obligation to share the good things the film has to empower you.

The sheer simplicity of patriotism makes this movie a true winner.

I dont' want to narrate the story in my own way and mask the true colors of it.

So watch the movie and come back to me if you think you lost your money, no matter, i will refund the entire amount.

LIVE THE LIFE. STOP ANALYZING IT!
Bye for now!

Yes Krishna,

I have seen this movie. The script writer has minutely analysed the the situations which made Rajguru, Bismil, Chandrashekhar turn into revolutiorners.

And then, those situations have been compared with current political scenario. Finally, they draw the conclusion that even after so many years of independence the situation has not changed much. Ground reality is very much the same.

The film somewhere shakes your internal patriotism in the thick atmosphere of humour throughout.

Amir Khan as DJ has re-proved his image as an actor with perfection.

I liked it.

Thanks,
Ajay

Unfortunately I missed it Embarassed in Zurich. I did not know that RDB was released in Zurich( Switzerland). I wanted to give a slap to my friend who was explaining this to me after the movie has gone from this city. Anyways I still have a chance to get the DVD. There is an offer from CITY BANK. Very Happy
" OPEN NRI CITY BANK RUPEE CHECKING ACCOUNT AND GET RDB DVD FOR FREE" Laughing

I will try this offer. After hearing this much abt the movie I cant resist my self.

Cheers,
MADHU

Hi Guys!
I heard that this is a really nice movie from many of my friends there in india, so i went to see this moovie on the very first day it got released here in USA. Luckily we got the tickets(Thanks to online booking)..Half of the crowd went back as they did't get tickets.
I went with little expectation thinking that its would be another nice patriotic moovie..guys Frankly its one of the best moovie i have seen till now..Actually i don't want to call it as a movie..It is showing the reality of indian political system comparing with our freedom struggle..
Nicely balenced by director..

As krishna already told..me too don't want to mask the true colors of it.
Just watch it..and you will feel the difference..

Hi Friends,

The best part of the film is that here the patriotism has been redefined in modern context. Something known as Neo-patriotism.

The film does not only raises the problems that the society is facing right now but also shows ways to encounter those problems.

Sudden realisation of resposibility awakens the lacklusturous boys, and these lines comes from the depth of their heart :

Abhi- Abhi Hua yakeen,
Aag hai hum me kahin.

Hi All,

Here is an other comedy movie by Priyadarshaan. Priyadarshan has made a good name in comedy movie with films like Hera - Pheri and Hungama.

The story of this movie " Maalamal Weekly" is also quite tickling. Paresh Rawal has been presented in central role. The picturisation of village environment is also good.

Let me add my views about RDB. I have seen the movie in very first week after it;s released in Mumbai. I have few points to put for this movie.

Like all of you, me too was very much excited about movie as it has Amir khaan, AR Rehmaan's music and patriotism. But First half of the movie was a bit boring only timepass and second half was a bit exciting.

Many ppl say movie shows modern patriotism(?). But any one who has seen the movie and knows little bit of history can say that it's old patriotism (Bhagat, Rajguru and Aazad). Infact the movie itself it shows story of old patriotism in parallel which these Delhi boys unknowingly and hopelessly repeat in the movie. Unknowingly and hopelessly because movie it self shows that those Delhi guys possess wat kind of views and knowledge about freedom fighters and thier movement.

First half of the movie-only CHIDI MARI-bole to only masti jo sabhi karate hain, sabane ki bhi hain. shayad kisi ne oosase jaada bhi ki ho !
Second half, it could have been more better, had director shown some intelligence like Maniratnam like "Roja". It was good attempt by Rakesh Mehara lekin hum ko nahi bhaaya.

What ever stupidity second half of the movie shows is nothing but wat we did in JNV, and our college. Only Imotions ?? School strike, teacher ki pitaai sab -bold and inspiring lagata hai. Lekin Killing a minister can not change the system in positive terms. "Badalaa Naa Lo, Badalake Dikhao "-Navodaya ne hum ko yahi sikhaya hain !! So this rang de basanti is "fiki".

Amir khaan- wasted.
Rakesh Mehra-IITian hoke bhi ........ ?? But Salute to his choice of storyline !!
AR Rehmaan- Rocks here too.
Ajay Singhania central character in RDB- Too good and brilliatly played by Sidharth Suryanarayanan.
Prasoon Joshi-thanks for Good lyrics-this is the crux of the movie -"E saala..."

Story concept is good but poor screenplay.

Overall movie- Thik thaak hai-OK.

It could have been great movie had it gone to the root cause of the situation that movie shows rather than simply suggesting solutions-"Be a Rebel..." There should be some weight when a guy who is only a college student, with cigaar in one hand and Haywards 5000 another- says, "IAS Officer bano..Police me jaao". Forget man, just "loose control...!! ". Lekin ek baar dekhane ke liye thik hai !!

Dear Friends
i have some different view about this movie. The best nd unique (i can argue on that ) thing about this movie is that it has initiated a discussion on every public forum possible. And in this front Mr. Mehra suceeds, no doubt.
My dear frd, RDB does not say that thr exist only one solution to the problem. it has just given u a solution. And i can say the solution was not appropriate. as most of u agree.
Yes, but a very strong message RDB has given to all its countrymen that don't wait others to come forward for ur problems. agar butha hai tho laro. At least the Indian constitution has given u right to oppose. At very small, how small it may be, we all have to perform our duty. we got the freedom but those problem still exist nd movie successfully convinces us that one more freedom struggle is needed... freedom from poverty, corruption, unemployment nd many more worse practises.
unhe jo achha laga unhone kiya.... we all are well educated nd can think of our betterment... so it is all up to us , what we want to do.
most of the ppl are more worried about the result.. ki kiya hoga karke.. is desh ka kuchh nahi ho saktha... aur politics tho bakwash hai... for them i can't resist myself frm quoting the dialogue by amir "Hum ek pair bhooth mein aur ek pair bhavishiya mein rakhthe hain, aur wartmaan mein muth rahe hothe hain"
because i know, those who ask such question they have ethe answers too. but who cares to know abt that....
but mere dosth... Hum tho unhi ko jagayenge naa jo so rahe hain... magar jo sone ka bahana kar rahe hain... unko tho koi nahi jaga saktha...

again in good faith

Hi Raaj Kishor,

You are right. The importance of RDB could be judged only with the waves of perception it throws all around. It just could not be dumped on the basis of its picturisation.

It has given rise to a constructive discussion on patriotism and that is the biggest USP of the movie. The message is hidden deep within. One will have to open up his heart to get it.

Thanks and regards,

Thanx Ajay for the appreciation

yaar main purane karmo mein believe kartha hoon. aaj jo bhi hum hain woh peechhle karmo ka fal hai. so i think our FUTURE totally depends on what we do at PRESENT.

Remember the clarion call of Swami Vivekananda to the youths of India :

"Even the least work done for others awakens the power within; even thinking the least good of others gradually instills into the heart the strength of a lion. As you have come into this world, leave some mark behind. Otherwise, what is the difference between you and the trees and stones ? What our country needs are some young men who will renounce everything and sacrifice their lives for their country's sake. Only such men can do some real work. I too believe that India will awake again, if anyone could love with all his heart the people of the country - bereft of the grace of affluence, of blasted fortune, their discretion totally lost, downtrodden, ever-starved, quarrelsome, and envious. Then only will India awake, when hundreds of large-hearted men and women, giving up all desires of enjoying the luxuries of life, will long and exert themselves to their utmost for the well-being of the millions of their countrymen who are gradually sinking lower and lower in the vortex of destitution and ignorance"

Nice talks guys,
RDB is a different movie. I dont agree that it shows one way after all KARAN in the movie say that we will join politics, police......................
I feel here is the way here they talk about the solution
you talked about those who are well educated Raj but how we can say one is well educated as the quality and quantity is different often
the msg is not reaching to them who lack quality who want to wait and see, who in your words sone ka bahana kar rahae hain. very few among us bother to talk about it all. ham kab tak intzaar karenge ki koi su hame jagane aaye, ham kiski baat sun ke uth khade honge ki virodh ke liye
kiska intazaar hai hame
These are msgs which reach to the people who can understand things but there are people who are not bad but msgs are not reaching to them. jo log dango me wombs me trishool maarte hain and ajanme bachcho ko jalate hain wo sabhi bure nahi hote, they are not given better guidnce. we need to carry msgs to them
God! I think I am going out of track, but there are many things which are out of track we have to care for them too

Hi Roushan,

It seems you got quite sentimental while posting this message. I do not what would had happened when you saw that movie. Laughing

In context of the given topic, I just want to say that in our India the actual problem is that we all try to increase our own level of comfort. Problems of society is just a topic to be discussed in airconditioned drawing rooms.

Noone is ready to put his hand in the mud and get it cleaned. Till this mentality changes, it is very difficult to get a solution of these problems that society is facing today.

I recall another movie with similar message - Naayak. Did you see it ?

Thanks and regards,

HI Navodaya.Net,
Rang De Basanti, an Aamir Khan film, is one of the hit of this year.Music composed by A.R. Rehman is amazing.

This movie talks of several youngsters with different aspirations from life. India of today and British India interact with each other at crucial points.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the director of the movie is surely a very talented person. The screenplay is very good- specially the second half. The end is extremely powerful.

Rang de Basanti' is really a film about awakening. The film was to be made both in Hindi and English versions. The English version was to be titled "Paint It Yellow". In India, the color of yellow represents sacrifice. The plans for the English version were dropped subsequently.

According to me RANG DE BASENTI is One of the Best movie that I have seen till now...... .This movie is a great youth drama. The only message of this movie is that we have big responsibilities on our shoulders for the betterment of our country.

I want to know the Views of Tulika, Vibhuti and Rewa didi on this movie.

Thanks,
SHALINI JHA
